This time of year can be such a challenge when some of us want to diametrically opposed things from the holidays: to eat all we want and to lose weight. I think one of the great points in the entire post is your suggestion to ask, "How can I help?" In marriage, a true partnership is best achieved by asking each other that simple question on occasion. I'm going downstairs soon to cook chicken for dinner and will not snack on the cookies. :)

Do you have another post for paper hoarders (newspapers and magazines)? My husband is guilty of that and it occasionally gets under my skin. I'm going to search my folders because you wrote a piece on clutter in general, that I liked and saved.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!Anitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08180243708565855383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7754684819908801536.post-47398682961137303042015-12-06T11:50:41.212-07:002015-12-06T11:50:41.212-07:00Excellent post, Kathy. BUT--in my first marriage, both hubby and I were overweight and loved to eat. BOTH of us ignored our health --and that didn't help what we fed our children... IF I could go back and do it again, I would do a much better job instilling good eating habits in my sons... All have struggled with weight --and I 'have' to take some of the blame... Oh Well---tis life... It's never too late to get a handle on good health. My biggest advice to your friend (and others with loved ones who are harming themselves with the wrong foods: do NOT have that junk in the house ---none of it.... That way the temptations are gone. There are still some things that call my name ---so I don't EVER have them easily available!!!!! ha

Merry Christmas, my Friend.
Hugs,
BetsyBetsy Banks Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16223591156634767330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7754684819908801536.post-85227480241609574482015-12-06T09:16:13.536-07:002015-12-06T09:16:13.536-07:00I think of all of these tips (all good) the most i...I think of all of these tips (all good) the most important is the reminder that some things are worse than death. There are those who live fulfilled lives with some debilitation. But there are many problems that make life almost unbearable and to avoid those really makes sense. A very useful, helpful post.Jeaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17482528482559445943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7754684819908801536.post-62101534825902416832015-12-06T08:47:17.667-07:002015-12-06T08:47:17.667-07:00I, too, have been there and perhaps lost the battl...I, too, have been there and perhaps lost the battle. I can live my life in a healthy way hoping to be an example to my loved one. I can support another's efforts to eat well and exercise. I can let them know I care. I agree that it is not death to be feared, but prolonged lack of wellness.Olgahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00692441479616299920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7754684819908801536.post-25477955072100133572015-12-05T21:00:16.856-07:002015-12-05T21:00:16.856-07:00Yep. And the exercise is easier where the sun is shining.Linda Myershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05706455533282204519noreply@blogger.com
