Just had a echocardiogram and all is well so that is comforting.

Does make one wonder though, if the body uses these symptoms for lots of maladies, not just heart attacks. I recently read the list of Ebola symptoms, and had I been in Africa or near anyone who had, I would have hightailed it to the emergency room. So many viruses out there, just waiting to pounce on us.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7754684819908801536.post-86609645612264923662014-10-15T19:27:29.600-07:002014-10-15T19:27:29.600-07:00Kathy, you sound just like me. Now, because I have heart problems, I think I am a little to quick to go to the ER, but can anyone be too careful?

My mother had vague symptoms twelve years ago, so she went to the doctor. She rarely would even go to the doctor, but she did this time. They did an EKG and said all was fine. Later that night, she had that heavy feeling in her chest and wisely called her neighbor to take her to the hospital even though she had been cleared just hours before. She was in the middle of a heart attack when she got to the hospital. She is still going strong at 98! Thank heavens she got to the hospital when she did. We have to listen to our bodies. I had a good friend with symptoms like yours who went to the ER. Sadly, they treated her for stomach flu and sent her home to die the same night. Thank God we are getting more informed and stories like yours bring home the message loud and clear. And I think you hit at what is probably the most common reason we (any of us) don't take action -- "It's just a little something, it'll pass and the things I need to do today are more important." We've all done it. Your words are an important reminder to one and all.Jeaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17482528482559445943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7754684819908801536.post-73975028509245943172014-09-30T01:33:09.549-07:002014-09-30T01:33:09.549-07:00This is a really important 'heads up', Kat...This is a really important 'heads up', Kathy and very much appreciated. Perhaps the reason so many women ignore their symptoms is because so often we have been brushed off when our concerns are brought to the attention of a doctor. The Broadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04976467218216864644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7754684819908801536.post-47789760268706885282014-09-29T21:38:12.280-07:002014-09-29T21:38:12.280-07:00I am so glad that your friend is going to be alrig...I am so glad that your friend is going to be alright. Did you find out if you had a heart attack at that time or if it was a food poisoning type of event? I had something similar last summer and I really felt it was food poisoning. I wont' eat at that place ever again. No one else got sick but me. It took me a few days to recover from that.

My dad's side of the family has heart problems. The summer before this last one my dad had to have by pass surgery and then a pacemaker. He was in the hospital almost 2 months. It all start with his gallbladder that he also had removed in that time. He's doing better now but it was really a bad time.

In February my sister who had just turned 40 had a mild heart attack. Several tests revealed that it was an electrical issue and she had the ablation surgery. She's doing fine now and don't need to take any medicine for it. She said her heart was beating really fast when it would happen.

I've had a combination of the symptoms you mentioned above and the thought of a heart attack has never came to my mind. I will hopefully remember this and if I have a combination of those symptoms again I will go to the hospital as much as you hate to go! lol I can't risk it. Plus I have fantastic insurance so it wouldn't really cost me much to have it checked out at least. I just hate going to the doctor because after having breast cancer you end up having to see several doctors on a regular basis and my calendar is pretty full between my appointments, regular dental and eye for myself along with the regular dental and eye appointments for my kids along with the orthodontist. The third time I told them I wan not going home until they told me why I was so fatigued and weak. Yeah, I had a heart attack appox. two days earlier. I could have been treated the first visit and avoided a lot of damage to my heart but no one believed I was having a heart attack. So glad things are finally change, so grateful to be alive.joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12112607125596693550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7754684819908801536.post-60877999393714376122014-09-29T17:20:05.262-07:002014-09-29T17:20:05.262-07:00We are indebted to you for sharing your story and ...We are indebted to you for sharing your story and that of Martha's.Helenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16619199535376925989noreply@blogger.com
